Description
Kinesiology tape is a versatile and affordable tool to support the body’s natural healing and extend therapy after a session. Kinesiology tape does not restrict movement, its effect is immediate, and it is suitable for both professional and independent use.
TEMTEX kinesiology tapes have excellent stretchability of nearly 160%, and they are used successfully in sports, medicine, and everyday life. With over 15 years of product development, TEMTEX kinesiology tapes offer a wide range of functions depending on the taping method, including support, pain reduction, improvement of lymph and blood circulation, correction of joint instability, and acceleration of recovery. For certain joint support, kinesiology tape effectively replaces traditional sports tape.
The tape stays on the skin for 3-5 days and is comfortable, free from active ingredients, and hypoallergenic. One five-meter tape roll provides 5-10 applications. The color of the tape doesn’t affect its therapeutic properties.
How to Apply and Remove Kinesiology Tape?
Kinesiology tape is best applied by a professional, such as a physiotherapist or a masseur. However, if you’re familiar with the principles of taping, you can do it successfully yourself.
When preparing for physical activity, apply the tape to your body at least 20-30 minutes before starting your workout.
To begin, locate the area with discomfort or pain. Then, select the appropriate width and length of kinesiology tape for the muscle: for example, a 7.5 cm tape is suitable for the lower back, while a narrower 5 cm tape is generally appropriate for other muscles. Trim the ends of the tape round to help it adhere better.
Ensure the skin is clean and free of hair in the intended area. Gently stretch the muscle into a position of slight tension. Be sure not to stretch the tape itself, but rather place it on the stretched muscle in its normal state – overstretched tape may damage the skin. Apply the kinesiology tape over the muscle and gently rub it to enhance adhesion. When applied correctly, the tape should form wrinkles as the muscle returns to its natural position. Keep the tape on the skin for 3-5 days.
Thanks to the fabric and heat-activated acrylic adhesive, the skin can breathe through the tape’s surface, reducing the likelihood of allergic reactions. If you still experience itching or notice a rash after taping, remove the tape immediately.
To remove the tape, hold the skin with one hand and gently and slowly peel the tape off with the other hand. Avoid removing kinesiology tape abruptly from the skin.
